Good news and bad news!

Bad news: my gaming time will be reduced from this point forward. No longer will I be online in the early afternoons (with a short exception) or stupidly late at night during the week.

Why?

Good news: after an almost two year search following my graduation from college, I have finally been offered a J-O-B! I will be working as a probation officer for the same city court system HolyMan frequents when he has cases. He'll arrest them; I'll make sure they pay their fines after they're put on probation. Nine to five... hour for lunch (which is when I can pop home and game since I live so close to the office!)... and I can still game to eleven p.m. or midnight!

So yeah... be happy for me, because me having a job means that HolyMan and I can finally move forward with our lives together!

Edit: I have paperwork to submit, and it has to be approved before I can start work. I have about a week or week and a half of 'freedom' left. I will also be able to keep an eye on the forums from the office, too!

One week down... many, many more to go! The new job is going well; only some of my defendants are completely bonkers.

It'll take me a bit to get into the routine where I work and then come home and multi-task everything I need to do at home while still gaming, but I'll get into the swing of things soon enough!

I have to revive this ol' thread yet again!

Bad news: my gaming time will be reduced from this point forward.

Good news: even though I wasn't actually looking for a job, it appears I have one. I received a telephone call yesterday from a recruiter, and my university apparently sent her the résumé I created right before I graduated. I was asked to interview today, which I agreed to do because... why not?

I did no research. I didn't even have an updated résumé since it was last-minute and I wasn't actively seeking work. I hadn't had an actual 'real' interview in forever, so my interview skills were atrocious (IMO.) But apparently I'm still awesome even unprepared and rusty, so I was offered a position on the spot by the three interviewers, who were all store managers. They didn't even say they'd get in touch with me; it was 'well, that's all our questions... want the job?' Heh. One store manager who interviewed me tried her best to get me to work at her store, which is close-ish to me but still almost an hour commute.

I'll be an assistant manager at a nearby Wal*Mart, which is actually one of my favorite stores. I have to do two weeks of in-store training, and then I'll be sent elsewhere in the state for four weeks to do classroom training. Don't worry; I'm buying a laptop to take with me. I'll be working three days on / three days off after the training period, which means that there will be some days when I'm only IG a few hours in the evening and some days when I'm IG all day.

All in all I'm excited, because the starting pay is rather nice and I'm prepared for the work involved. I will miss endless gaming, but I figure I might ought to do something productive with that B.S. in Management I earned (other than leading Legion troops.)

So... huzzah!
