    Awesome.

Have never read the books but can't get enough of the show! Finally, a Fantasy epic made into a decently budgeted series with passable (heck, even decent!) actors.

I loved the first three books. IMO, the last two books (A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons) show a marked decline in the quality of the story. I will read the next one, and if I don't see an improvement then I think I am done with the series.

As a side note, I absolutely love the Dresden Files books. If you haven't read them, I recommend you do so. And don't let the TV show impact your decision - the book and the TV show are very different.

That book series has been so, so good. Yet so terrible. He knows exactly what to do in order to hook readers, so much so he has it down to a practical formula. And even though the mystery of each novel is eventually made clear (or usually, he loves them cliff hangers), they're so easily read over again.

If I ever have half the swag of Peter Dinklage I'll be happy.

I thought they did the Red Wedding just as I imagined it. As for the books, well the only one I was really let down on was Feast of Crows. I personally enjoyed Dance. Needless to say I am a huge fan of the series and books.

I didnt expect Talisa aka Jeyne Westerling getting mullered. Especially since in 6 books and nearly 5700 pages she is still alive.... I have a funny feeling she is going to die now.

I tried to care about this show, I really did... But there's only so much faff you can take before you end up switching off...

I fear I may be sick of fantasy all together.

On the flip side I just got the complete Battlestar Galactica on bluray, so that should keep me entertained.

I just re-watched the entire series on Netflix. I am normally not a big sci-fi fan, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

As for Game of Thrones, I am a big fan of the books, not so much the show. I saw season 1 and stopped there.
