  • Never fails to draw a laugh from me

    The sunburnt ---- stockman stood
And, in a dismal ---- mood,
    Apostrophized his ---- cuddy;
    "The ---- nag's no ---- good,
    He couldn't earn his ---- food -
    A regular ---- brumby,
    ----!"

He jumped across the ---- horse
And cantered off, of ---- course!
    The roads were bad and ---- muddy;
Said he, "Well, spare me ---- days
    The ---- Government's ---- ways
    Are screamin' ---- funny,
    ----!"

He rode up hill, down ---- dale,
The wind it blew a ---- gale,
The creek was high and ---- floody.
Said he, "The ---- horse must swim,
The same for ---- me and him,
    Is something ---- sickenin',
    ----!"

He plunged into the ---- creek,
The ---- horse was ---- weak,
    The stockman's face a ---- study!
And though the ---- horse was drowned
The ---- rider reached the ground
    Ejaculating, "----!"
    "----!"

        It's not four letters...

And it dosen't make sense when shouted on it's own.
Running across the mountains, attacking with an oversized scalpel, cometh Helga Great-Wyrm! And she gives a mighty bellow:
"Brace yourself, oh human speck of dust! You are made of meat and I am very hungry!"

          I love it!

With a little arrangement, it would fit perfectly to the old Irish tune "The Hills of Connemara" :

Incidentally, "Hills of Connemara" is about the Great Irish Verb--"drink."

Glad you liked it, Dragor. Nearly fits the rhythm of the poem, if you screw around with the last two lines of each stanza. For some reason, heard that one in my head when I read it.

Ya, Irish music isn't for everyone.
In fact, I have a theory that Irish people drink so much mostly to make their own music sound better. When the music in fact does sound better after a few drinks, they drink more because they are pissed as farts at that point and have lost all sense of reason.
                    Go figure.

Scots, on the other hand, don't need any excuse to drink. . .

I never meant to hijack this thread, but will now do so in earnest:

The main reason for Irish people needing an excuse to drink is guilt. Guilt can be easily sidestepped, however.

TOP TEN EXCUSES FOR IRISH PEOPLE TO DRINK:
                          10: Irish Music
9: ANY other music that sounds better drunk (especially techno)
                          8: Funerals
7: Wakes (a special Irish funeral where everyone drinks for 2 or 3 days)
                          6: Weddings
5: ANY sporting event, especially ones you aren't interested in.
4: Physically being anywhere within a half a mile of a pub.
3: Physically being anywhere within a half a mile of a nightclub after having been turfed out of the pub.
2: Any day within 7 days, before or after, Christmas or Paddy's Day.
                          1: Irish Music

Thinking up excuses takes up valuable time that could be used drinking
