Alright, I may be MIA for possibly a few hours or even forever. I'm having computer issues and it may be a simple fix or it could be something that requires a new computer. I'll post a pic of the problem I'm having so if anyone knows what to do PLEASE HELP!!!!

I believe it has to do something with my video card in which case I'm not too excited to go spending my money on one when I'll need all my cash for college... But we'll see....

really one way to be sure...try hooking the computer up to a different monitor, use a different cable, then if you can try a different video card (even an antiquated one) only way to be sure its one of those things.

Well I think it's obvious by his screenshot that it isn't the monitor. The important thing to know is the model of your video card, which you can find easily by going to start -> run and typing in dxdiag

Once that opens go to the video tab, it should show driver information and a model. In any case you want to try to reinstall your video drivers (making sure they are up to date), then adjust your display properties to set the colour bit-depth back to 32bit.

If that fails look at the accessibility options in your control panel, it could be that some of these features were enabled which can cause a display like this (for people who have trouble seeing, etc).

So i did what you said Saulus and it claims that i have no video driver so that makes me think that there's something wrong with the video card. Im gunna being the comp to get looked at eventually I hope, and hopefully they can fix whatever the problem is.

Also i tried adjusting the resolution and color bit-depth back to normal and it wouldn't work.

if you know how...try flashing the bios...sometimes it screws up and some drivers arent recognized, if you know your mainboard model info you can look up the instructions on how to do it, if you feel comfortable with that sort of thing

How would I go about doing this? My driver or video card or whatever is a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS...

I would not recommend flashing the BIOS for this sort of thing, please do not give advice unless you fully understand what the problem is. Flashing a bios should not be needed unless there is a specific fix or hardware incompatibility, doing it improperly can make things worse and possibly toast your mainboard if it doesn't have a backup eeprom.

AsuraKing, if you have downloaded the latest video drivers for your card (NVIDIA) what was the error?

right i tend to get ahead of myself, i will go think with my brain and not with my fingers for a while, drivers should be ruled out first, and it all depends on how comfortable one feels fingering the hardware

Alright, well it looks like I wont be getting my comp fixed anytime soon. Which means that unless I can find someway to install NWN2 on my macbook (might invest in windows for boot camp, though not sure) It looks like the end of the line for me... I go back to school in less then a month so wont have my gaming comp there even if it does get fixed. So not sure how long it will be till I get back... that's if I ever get back.

For all my buddies (AKA, everyone on the server) that I disappeared on, I miss RPing with you all a ton!

As for IC reasons for my Toons to poof for the time:

PS: If ANYONE knows some way to get NWN2 to work on a mac without boot camp PLEASE tell me... and dont say Crossover cause that doesnt work and dont say the mac version cause I've thought about it and researched it and I dont believe there are any expansions for the mac version.

Well I just checked in on Crossover Games and apparently there's an update that I didn't know about and supposedly now NWN2 works fairly well. I'm not gunna get my hopes up, but I sure as hell do have my fingers crossed.

Expansions work for the mac version, just do some googling. I know people have done it. I think the only issue might be the latest patch version of the game you can go up to, even then I think someone posted a way around it.

For sure there is a a thread on this on the bioforums.
