I was really surprised to see Uruguay take down Mexico.

And hey, we won a group for the first time in 70 years!

Now that SA is out, I'm left supporting The Netherlands and Germany.

I must say, the South American teams look daunting...Lane you really think ARG will defeat your BRA?

And USA, congrats ...I just wish Africa can apply the same dilligence with which USA has improved themselves over the years...

Yeah, BRA is not playing that good. Some of the players who are sucking as hell, like Kaka for example, they just play because of the damn sponsor. If they keep that shit up, they will go down for sure.

Now that's also SPA, wich is my second team, because I have Spanish blood in my veins, so I go for it as well. However, they got in as favorite team and already lost in the first game.

Now, ARG is playing with will, they seem to want to win whatever it takes. Like their lives depend on it. And even if I HATE ARG ( in soccer world, of course, because I don't have the ability to hate anyone or anything at all, except that I have to work and can't play my soul off ), I think they will rock in the end.

But we never know, I never thought that ITA would win the last cup.

Gotta admit -- the US has been THE team to watch for sheer excitement in the first round. Wow -- heart-wrenching games! In the end they certainly deserved to make it through.

This world cup has been completely bizarre and unpredictable. The bookies are laughing all the way to the bank with all of the drawn games played, for one thing.

Many of the heavy-hitters have been luke-warm at best. Some even say these guys must be holding back to inspire false confidence!
England? Italy? FRANCE (who knocked my home country out with a lousy steenking hand ball, incidentally)? How much do these players earn a year in their respective leagues? Yet their playing has been very uninspiring so far.

On paper, it seems possible it might be an all South American final. That would be the 'prettiest' possibility in my book.

Totally possible for one of the remaining European teams to sneak in: Spain and Portugal have been relatively impressive so far, and Germany looks dangerous enough to win as well.

Then there are the wild-cards; with the way the rest of it has gone, I think I'll pop into the bookies and bet on Japan to beat South Korea in the final. Wonder what odds they'll give me?

The reality is it's anyone's to win!

Woohoo - an African team qualified for the final 16: Congrats Ghana!

And they square off against USA - that promises to be a stonking game!

I can't see myself betting against an all South American Final...

The Asian teams have really impressed as well.

mmm, maybe we can crown a first time world cup winner for 2010

Yeah, trying to decide whether to root for Mexico or Ghana for the rest of the tourney now.
