  • The Malazan Book of the Fallen

Does anyone read Steven Erikson's books, from the saga mentioned in the title? What do you think of them?

I personally found many of its concepts refreshing and original, and I may add that I think the magic system is the most brilliant I've seen so far - and I do read a lot.

Definitely one of my favorite series; very fresh and original, especially the first three books.

Interestingly, it's based on a long running d&d campaign which Ericsson ran while in college. One of the other players has written a parallel series in collaboration with Ericsson, but I havent read any of those books.

I was turned-on to the series by an interview with Robert Jordan, not long before his death, where he mentioned that he was reading the Malazan books and enjoying them very much. High accolades indeed!

        Yep, last September.

As far as I know, it was a GURPS campaign, not D&D.
