    Game sound issues

    So I upgraded from win xp to win7 64bit. Installed NWN2 and the game doesn't see my sound blaster card now. Same card as before.
    All I get is software emulation which is pure poop.
    I could enable the motherboard built in sound if I have too, but would perfer the card. Any ideas? The card seems to work just fine at desktop lvl. But haven't tried any other games yet.

    You need Alchemy to get EAX in games that use DirectSound in Vista/7 (instead of OpenAL). It's free for X-fi users, but if you have an older sound card you will have to buy it from creative.

    I use it and its a great, simple, free tool that fixes something that was Microsoft's doing (they changed how sound works in Vista/7).
    The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

      Alright, I downloaded alchemy from Creative's support pages. I have a X-FI card so should work I hope. It didn't magically fix anything yet so I'll have to figure it out. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
