I just got my GTX 480. This means I was one of the ones who lucked out getting the limited early stock.

The purpose of this thread is to spite Maevan and his inferior GPU and increase my e-peen.

That's very close to my rig, only I have 2 WD Caviar Green (1 TB each) and 2 GTX 295 in SLI mode.

I have 2 x 1.5TB in RAID1 and 1 x 1.5TB for game storage.

295 SLi is a nice but exotic option as I find Quad-SLi doesn't scale well on many games (except Crysis).

Also I must be prepared for Crysis 2 this year with DX11.

Trying to blag a 2011 license of maya atm (it's not working - Bastard companies!), I want to see how the new mental ray do-dah works with the fermi-thing.

For games, it's more of a limitation related to the fact that they are not programmed to take advantage from multiple GPUs (nor CPUs, for what it matters).

Whats the heat output on that card? i'm running duel HIS iceQ 4870's and my pc is like a heater...when it gets cold i shut my bedroom door and it warms the room nicely.
