My turn to tap into the geek knowledge of this forum.
After the sudden death of my main HD last month I figured it's time to consider building a new machine. Building a budget machine due to the usual drain of children on the coffers.
I plan on going with the top o line AMD processor, AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition and some sort of O'clockable MB. The price can't be beat.
Yes I know Intel will crush it in the benchmarks, but I doubt I would notice a difference playing NWN2 or browsing the Web etc.
A nvidia card 260,275,280 in that range.
~4 gigs of ram. Now can Windows 7 support more then that?
Windows 7, upgrade from XP. A big question! Is this a mistake?

Is buying a System Builders - OEM version a problem. I can't remember how many times I used my XP CD to install and reinstall on new hardware. Can that be done with this OEM version? Can NWN2 run on a 64bit OS, or safer to stay with 32bit?
Then will need a new power supply and a extra HD to back up the one I have.
All tips, advice, words of wisdom are welcome!
thanks,
