Mmm! Still haven't finished the original. Or even got half-way through.

But Metro 2033 is out at the weekend!

Meh I'm waiting for my GTX 480 before playing Metro, I want DX11

and I finished DA more than once (only the first time did I try to complete all the side quests)... so Awakening is just more crack for me!

Hah, feel your intention on that score.

My idea is to get Metro this weekend, spend a week or two swearing at how shittly it runs on my aging Q6600 / 8800GTX (slow 640mb version) combo...

Then I'll get a GTX 480 and u2410 (sadly have to hold off on the i7 upgrade for now) and grin like an idiot at how well it runs!

I ran the game with two characters.

One was a human noble male warrior. He was a sword-and-shield tanking build with the Templar/champion specializations - typical uncomplicated tough guy warrior. I went with the Blood Dragon set with him.

The other was a elven female mage. Faith Healer/arcane warrior specializations, though I didn't really invest in the arcane warrior abilitie sor wore armor. Went mostly for big AoE spells, crowd control and healing.

I keep telling myself I should try out a mean spirited dwarf rogue, just to see another angle of the game... but pitching in another 60 game hours has, to date, felt too daunting for me.

I'm really looking forward to playing the expansion, though. I'm unsure of which character I'll take for it. Now that I think about it, I think I enjoyed my gameplay experience as a mage much more... so I may go on with her.
