Whoops looks like I bit the hand that feeds, AGAIN!

Sorry it's just the way I am. To many hours past in game having ooc conversations with everyone about what we all are having a problem with kind of got me rallied up and ready to say what everyone else was afraid to. maybe I was too blunt, maybe I picked a fight with others pride, again.

I apologise, for what it's worth. I do respect you guys for all the work you do even if my lack of diplomatic skills makes it unapparent.

I knew, everyone knew, that the guy who speaks out about something gets beat down. You all already hate me for doing such in the past so what is to lose?

You say don't be afraid of giving constructive criticism but look at what follows the posts of anyone that has ever criticised. Locked.

Here it is Constructively:
The system does need tweaking for sure. Honestly, no kidding, really. This is not just my opinion, hear this please! Too many hours are required for a naturally progressing - slowly progressing player to actually progress. I'd rather be recieving less XP for kills, no XP on ticker and slower levelling so as not to be up against a wall. I know I could have built XP anyway by those things and reached that next level in time but I don't want to reach the next level and be at the cap immediately. Being capped is like playing with a collar on.

You loose the great feeling of being able to party up and go out and do something that defines D&D as a game. Questing.

The point where I was discussing with other players, to avoid DM XP, avoid quest XP and about to get PC's killed more than once just to delevel them, just to have something to do was the point I started thinking this just isn't right.

It's not about fast levelling Kael, it's not about trying to be uber too fast it's about sense of progression. I'm not powergaming I'm not cheating and I'm not exploiting your well built system. Why do you try and control me?

Level caps?

What picture does this Build to PnP style gamers?
Partying up and going on an adventure, this is inhibited now, stopping you from levelling faster than what?
Players that don't? Players that spend their time in non dangerous low risk social scenarios? Players that make their XP as free trickle XP, something not in any D&D ruleset, that builds them into more powerful PC's! from talking?

That's fine if you play a bard or a diplomat but not if you are a barbarian, fighter, rogue, mage etc.

Do you think that the group consisting of a ranger, cleric, fighter and wizard out in the viridale watching each others backs as gnolls and goblins are attacking them are not Roleplaying? I can tell you, we RP our little hearts out and more time is spent talking and discussing actions and goals than is spent swinging swords and shooting spells or arrows.

I utterly praise what this server is and what you guys have built but I need a break because the new system here is for players who have way more time than myself to either sit doing nothing or don't mind just farming for gold. I was here for the RP, the friendship and the time spent with others building my 'mary sues.' That's not possible right now. You may think it is, but it's not.

I won't be able to stay away for ever I know I won't, I just don't want to sit around being annoyed at a time in my life that I need escapism. I've been through moving house, caring for my son whilst he was ill and then I was very ill myself and my wife pregnant, then there was a death and a birth all in the last few weeks within my family and logging on to be controlled and oppressed more than I am in life is not a good deal for me right now.

I'm gonna try and work my way through the entire single player game, something I have always mean't to do. Pausing when I need to change a nappy, coming back when I get 30 seconds more.

I'll be back after though.

What kind of picture does it paint if someone makes no effort to make constructive criticism and laces it with insults? Well for one it paints a picture where the staff are unhappy and unwilling to support users.

It has been said time and time again XP gains will not change. And it seems to be just one person having a major issue. What I find even funnier is all of this happens after a confirmed bug that occurred with the time system that we are manually correcting with each pc. Ridiculous. Of course most players are blind to these facts.

I for one, am not going to sit by while people tell me how I've been making "stupid, awful" decisions, etc. I do this for free -- and you're not going to get ANYWHERE using that to make your points. My tolerance only goes so far.

If you think you can get away with that anywhere else, on any other server... I really encourage you to try it, because if they put up with it then they probably won't be around very long -- no one can or will put up with that kind of crap forever.

Anyone and everyone is welcome to play on this server, but not when I see the staff bashing that I see and hear behind closed doors. I know who the people are (I really do) and if they don't smarten up, I can't reciprocate the same kind of tolerance.

I'm sorry to everyone, but I had to ban Azulfae. Even though he's stated he's leaving, this is to ensure he doesn't come back.

For privacy reasons, I can't show you the private message he sent me (nor the other infractions he's garnered over the last six months). I hate reaching the point of banning someone, but it has come to that.

I'd like to hold a meeting tonight with the Sundren community to hear some of your thoughts. I find the forums to be impersonal in many ways, and we want to give folks a chance to voice themselves (in a constructive and non-attacking manner). I will make a separate post on this.

Please feel free to message me privately if you want to voice your opinion. I don't want to shut the doors of communciation.
