  • Mathing the sneak attack

Im just up to my neck in numbers right now (( and actualy enjoying myself)) So I was wondering, could someone post a rough chart of Medium AB charts and attacks per round? to level 20 preffertably.. lot of work I know, but im no where near a source to read it! (( or if someone is willing to link me to one even better lol))

Ps: Really slow day at work, blerg

PPS: the real reason im doing this is doing sneak attack VS invisble blade potential damage.. I will post my maths here when done:P

*Seigh* so! It seems my version of excell at home is incompatable with my one from work... awesome . To post it here I am going to have to wait to get back to work, but I did most of the math. Essentaily what ends up happining is the invisble blade is better (( in raw damage potential)) until you start factoring in multiple attacks the damage forumals basicly came down to this

Rog (1d6 *(a/2))X . Where X is the number of attacks you have, and A is your level

        Invisblade : (B*[X<4]) Where B =bleed damage

Basicly, Until multipliers hit the table the bleed damage due to its stacking takes the lead, the second multiple attacks hit well, mutipling adds up quicker then adding lol.

It IS worth noteing, that my is operateing under the assumption both characters are auto hitting ,(( the bleeding drops further behind if misses are factored in))that both do not stop sneak attacking. Also worth note, the invisblade is going to be hitting more often then the rouge, giving it more reliablity aginst high AC mobs. The invisblade also has very signficantly higher minimum damage, bad rolling wont hurt you as bad (( not even close to as bad)) as a dedicated sneak attacker

Both suffer when sneak attack immunity is applied of course.
Invisiblade has a slight modification (( not part of the orrginal intended events)) In that should sneak attacks be denied by normal means, they have better odds of being able to fient their way into a few extra ones

Rog is your clear damage winner in the long run

Invisblade is more reliable, and safer.

          here we go!

Its most of the chart, essentialy to get a nice average damage I ran through every combination of dice to see the outcomes , essentialy as it counts you can see that the bleeding is generaly superior to sneak attack until you see that two attacks come into play, then you can quickly see the mutipling effects to the point I didnt bother to finish the chart...yes, this is before I simply thought of doing variable math on this... stupid day for me

Ps: if anyone sees any issues in my math please tell me! I know I cut the charts short, if its absolutly nessicary i can post the rest, but you can see the trends just by watching it
