Oh, and the confusing error log. Note, this is me trying to install 3.5 from the windows site, not Sundrens. Sundrens one doesn't work for me either, and gives the same error, quitting around the same place (just barely started installing), but doesn't give an error log. Oo

Are you trying to install .NET 3.5 from the Microsoft website? What version of Windows are you running?

I have a Windows XP, and, I've tried to Install .NET 3.5 from the Microsoft website AND Sundrens link as well. Both keep failing.

If you have .NET uninstalled, have rebooted your machine and still can't install 3.5 from the Microsoft website I think trying to run the updater is the least of your system issues.

I'll try rebooting the computer. Still haven't done that. =P.

                  Agh.

Yeah, rebooting the computer didn't do anything, Saulus.

I could swear I already have it, but then wouldn't the updater say I already have it? Oo.
Its in my files, C/Windows/Microsoft.net/Framework/v3.5/Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5
It just contains a bunch of documents though, two 'DAT' files, a bitmap image, winrar archive, and a folder called 'logs'.

If you already have it, uninstall it first. Even if you already had it, it wouldn't fail when installing it, you have some serious system issues if you're failing to install .NET ... It's an extremely common library.

Egh. It doesn't show up in Add/remove Programs, and trying to delete all the files tells me its in use.

                      The readme: http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...tNetReadMe.htm

2.1.7. Download of .NET Framework Setup fails.

                      2.1.7.1. Configuration Errors

This error occurs when BITS interfaces are not registered or the registry settings are corrupted.

                      To resolve this issue:

                      - Upgrade to BITS 2.0 from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

                      -or-

                      - Repair the BITS service by running the Bitsadmin tool at the command prompt, as follows: bitsadmin /util /repairservice /force

You can download the Bitsadmin tool from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en.

Tried both. First one told me that I already have a newer version of it, second worked fine, didn't fix anything when I tried running it.

How exactly does the Sundren Updater work, though? If I click the launch button, it should launch instead of showing me a bunch of words n stuff, yeah?

It requires .NET 3.5 to be installed, if that isn't installed nothing about the updater will work. You obviously have some system issues with your XP installation so I can't give you much advice.

All right, thanks anyhow, I'll try to look around a bit more and see if I can get it work.

Might be able to fix this after all. Lets just say I'm a big fuck up, and in my attempt to install 3.5, I uninstalled 1.1 (Yeah, I couldn't even run Warcraft III Auto refresher cuz of this), installed 1.1 again, and I'm going to try reinstalling every other version of framework as well. Hopefully I can get 3.5 to work, probably didn't due to my removal of 1.1
