Just dropping in to say, hello. I am new to Sundren, but not new to NWN or roleplaying. I've decided to stop in and have a look at the server, although I must say after reading the restrictions on races and such I didnt really want to. But...lack of options, and maybe it will be worth it, right?! Tell me Im right. Im right, right? Right...

I hope to meet most of you, and get in some quality fun! My bard...who has been a drow bard for the last 4 years on nwn 1...(evil one mine you >.>) is now a wood elf (grrr) and ready to perform some depressing songs for your displeasure!

Hey dusk, you sound like a pessimist! Well I am. I look forward to meeting you all, but due to past experiences on every NWN2 server I've tried, my outlook is not so good, and im hoping this wonderful community can lift my spirits.

Give it a chance - you'll love it. I've loved it enough to make this my 1207th post. The restrictions turn out for the best, by the way. It's so much better to not be flooded with Drow and Fire Genasi, with elves and humans being minorities; situations like that kinda suck the patience out of most of us.

Bah. The race restrictions just mean fewer races that aren't dwarves, gnomes, or hin. That's a good thing. Though seriously, it's something of a necessity. The point of those ECL races is that they're rare. If they weren't restricted, everyone and his mother would likely be playing one. I'd probably have one of every gensai plus a tief, myself. They tend to be more difficult to RP, to boot, and require a bit of knowledge of lore to get right. Lots of folks play goodly drow like it's completely normal, and that grinds my gears. So, they've gotta be restricted. Do good and eventually, you may get a crack at one of 'em yourself.

While the races are more restricted, classes are more open, bar a few explicit exceptions. More PrCs plus Samurai. More spells for pretty much every spell-slinger. More feats. Added a few class abilities, like Detect Evil.

But enough of that. Welcome to here. You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.

oh, believe me, I read about the races being allowed if deemed worthy enough, and Id like to consider myself quite knowledgeable on drow I wouldnt play a genasi or tief im afraid, I dont know anything about RPing them. I am however, quite confident in my roleplay abilities, and therefore will put out the effort necessary to see that this server is graced with the presence of my drow eventually. I look forward to the lynch mobs.

After all the crap I've been through on nwn2 and 1 I never expect anything great from anything... Even in real life.
While I would like to play one of the more interesting races I can see why that want them restricted (Obsidian fucked up most of their appearance and stats anyway), when you get a rare race it is a rare race which makes it more fun when you get to play one.

Other than that Sundren surprised me with how good it was. The xp isn't too fantastic but everyone will powergame with you, the DM's aren't power hungry self centered lazy pricks (Looking at you TFR D:<) and even the guys that kidnap you and rape your soul do it in a nice way.

...Must remember to try not to get banned this time

Yea,i hear ya about the drow....My favorite race and most knowledgeable also...But,this server is awesome...So give it a try.If you need evil friends,seek me out...hahahaha

no, but in all seriousness, i've only run into one person thus far...or perhaps better to say, he ran into me...halfling....crotch level...ouch.

But he was a fun guy, I hope to meet more people soon, apparently i dont know the places, but im getting tired of the lizards in the sewer sodomizing me.

You could slaughter goblins in the hills quite easily. It's about as dangerous as going to the store for milk and almost as fun. As for finding folks, there should be an option in the Sundren menu that lists where folks are. Great for butting your way into groups.
