  • Sundren: Not your father's persistent world

Greetings from a newbie. I'm finding Sundren supernifty. Other persistent worlds seem to be made for more "youthful" (i.e., immature) players who like to run around, double-wielding glowing weapons and trailing flowing capes. And characters seem to go up in level once every 10 minutes.

Sundren, on the other hand, is a beautifully constructed world, with a sober (dare I say "refreshingly miserly") XP/gold reward system. Every player character I've run into so far has been congenial, and most have impressively roleplayed their character.

I'm glad I found Sundren just when I, and my friend, were running out of competent multiplayer NWN2 modules (there are about 4 out there). The only question I have in all of this is whether or not player characters are ever given quests, automatically. I imagine DMs are the ones who give out quests. Any info would be appreciated.

Foremost, though, I just wanted to post my first post, and give props to the Sundren powers that be, and to the players who populate this incredible world.

The quest system is being implemented as we speak... at least, that's what I'm told

    Welcome to the server

I'm glad you see what we're striving to accomplish and understand the playstyles we employ here. Welcome aboard.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

well that's not very nice. It is a computer game after all... who doesn't like glowing weapons and a cape?

          Anyway, welcome
