I love seeing bands of Dwarves. They will have a special place in Sundren someday.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

So the dilemma is whether to go EK route or make a pure wizard. Here is my question...
The description for EK states that: At each level (except 1st level) an eldritch knight gains new spells per day, plus another effective casting level, as if he progressed in an arcane spellcasting class that he had prior to becoming an eldritch knight.
Not how it says that EK doesn't gain spells or casting levels at 1st level. So does that in fact mean that EK won't be able to cast 9th lvl spells as a pure wizard would?

From what I'm reading, a lot of people like to go Fighter/Wizard route before they take EK. My strategy is to take 3 levels of wizard and take martial weapons feat at level 3. That takes care of the requirements for EK. Now assuming I take 3 lvls of wizard and 17 of EK will I have access to 9th lvl spells. If not, I think I would prefer to go pure wizard to get those spells.
