  • Mostly back! What's the best way for a returning player to get involved?

Hi, I'm Kirin. On-and-off again player, recently returned. And the biggest problem I'm having getting back into the swing of things is, I don't recognize many PCs anymore!

That's not a terrible thing; I enjoy RPing and interacting with new personalities, both new characters and new players. But I am reading through the "Rumors" forum and trying to parse what story arcs are still going on and which ones aren't, and was looking for a bit of advice.

What plot threads need some more attention or players, that a creepy witch of the wilds might be able to help with? It can be DM or player-run things, I'm fine with either. Just trying to find the best way to get involved again.

That depends. Some stories are harder to get into than others. I've heard the Aurilites could use a hand. :-) If you're a nature type, you could try and figure out a way to meet Cora, Adama, or Dryn (Hope they don't mind me tossing their names out).
    Byrun - Wandering Swordsman
Falrenn Silvershade - Shaper of Truths

If you're searching the lines for a point
    Well, you've probably missed it
    There was never anything there
    In the first place

        Thank you for the replies!

Nadya lives on the fringes of civilization as a necessity of her race, but she's not a druid or super "naturey" type overall. Really, getting involved with and helping anyone who's trust she can earn is good for character development and RP. I'm basically having to start over with her reputation since I don't recognize most of the PCs I used to RP with.

          It's YOU!

Stop sealing my souls and sending them away to a nice afterlife.

          In all seriousness, Welcome Back!
I look forward to seeing your feline friend wandering the back-roads once more.

As for what you can do, as Cmosier said, there are some naturalistic threads for both the Viridale and the Cold-Climb; the former player-driven, the latter staff-driven, as I understand it.
And lots of conflict, as per normal.

          Cheers,
          Kit

Crafting changes are a dead-horse topic, but feel free to ask me about crafting: If I can't answer it, I bet I can direct you to someone who can.

          Unfortunate truths:
Intention: [DM > Crafting > Faction Store > Drop > Regular Store]
Reality: [DM > Faction Store > Drop > Regular Store> Crafting]

You've already met Reinamar, though not in the most ideal fashion. I'm trying to coordinate the elves of Sundren, work out who our allies are, and what we invest our considerable skill and long lives to. Feel free to pm me, hop into rumor threads if you can't find people in game, or send in game tells! I love getting involved with other players.
            Active
Reinamar Stormseeker - The bladestorm that must turn back the wind. Arkerym of The People, practitioner of the forgotten art, pariah.

Tyler Penleigh - Obligatory author insert, Red Blade Defender, sarcastic jerk, caring brother, loving fiancé, war criminal.

            Retired/Dead
Eirimil Gaelazair (Dead)- Bitter. Caustic. Abrasive. Egocentric. Probably right. Found dead in the burned-out Viridale forest a few weeks after the survivors were able to sweep the area after the Bloodmaim offensive. Aside from his usual attire, an intricate music box was the only thing in his possession.
