  • New to Sundren, New to NW2 Multiplayer

Hey guys! My name is Cole, which you are free to call me if you wish, otherwise Sinjustice, or Sin, is my tag.

I recently picked up NW2 Platinum off of a Steam sale, which thrilled me to no end because I've always wanted to roleplay on NW2, but never had the expansion packs (and 99% of servers require them). In fact, I only had a borrowed copy of NW2.

I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons 3.5e for about six years now, on and off as I can be a busy guy. My favorite setting is Eberron, which is what I usually play, but I have the FR campaign setting and I know a decent amount of its lore. I'm excited to get back into roleplaying as I've been out of it for a few years. My longest experiences were with a Harry Potter alternate school RP forum where I was a moderator for about a year and a half and also a Naruto RP forum where I was an active member and veteran for about two and a half years. The only video game RP experience I have is with Garry's Mod in the Half-Life 2 universe, but that was only for a few months. I was also a moderator on a Minecraft server for a few months last year and there was a bit of RPing as a leader of a Thieve's Guild, but that barely counts. :P

As a person, I'm kind of a jack of all trades guy. I enjoy video games, snowboarding, music (as does pretty much everyone), writing, reading, and meeting new people. I'm currently going to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for Media Arts & Game Development with a minor in Public Relations

I look forward to getting immersed here and meeting some wonderful people. Some of my greatest friends I've met through online communities such as this, so I can't wait to meet you all.

P.S: I'm a total noob when it comes to NW2 multiplayer and servers and such, so please bear with me as I ease into things.

Welcome welcome! We have a tight-knit community here, so feel free to ask any of us questions. In fact, on most days I get online during my lunch break for the express purpose of answering questions.

Take a look at the Wiki for lore-related questions; although Sundren is set in the Forgotten Realms, we have our own custom lore as well. Some of the mechanics information is incorrect in the Wiki, so keep that in mind when building a character.

    Enjoy!

      We'll get on that...eventually.

In the mean time, roll a gnome! And welcome.

Thanks for the welcome guys! I was thinking of rolling a Wood Elf Ranger of sorts hailing from the High Forest region who's in Sundren because he feels compelled to explore and preserve the wilderness of the region.

Something to start with and develop a bit more as I play and find something I like.

Like Foogoo said, feel free to ask almost anyone for advise or anything else you may want (except Bloody, he is evil!).

              Hi, welcome.

You will find pretty much everyone on Sundren friendly OOC'ly...not all friendly IC'y though of course! But mostly they are dressed in black capes/masks, with long curly moustaches and maniacal laughs..so pretty easy to spot (the ones that are not so easy to spot are the really dangerous ones...)

Apart from that, carry plenty of healing potions and don't be afraid to PM other players if you have questions!

I rolled a Rogue going Shadowdancer. Kind of a witty, suave guy looking for work after being run out of Waterdeep by an upper class merchant whose daughter he had been... Involved with. :P That character is named Cole.

I'm also thinking of running a Monk of Ilmater going Sacred Fist. We'll see which one I find more appealing.

What's the best way to jump right into some RP? I walked my Rogue to Sundren City, but there wasn't anyone around. I was hoping to RP searching for some dirty work to do.

Your best bet would see if you can find people through the searchable tool on your little toolbar of goodies.

Also trying to involve yourself in a faction would help a lot, but you have to be level five before you can join one.

Ingenious idea! I shall have to make a Shadowbane Stalker with that ideal in mind. Black cloak, hood, mustache, weird laugh, and completely devoted to keeping people cheerful and happy!

On the original topic at hand, welcome to Sundren, Sinjustice, please enjoy your stay. The people in red armor tend to want your complete and utter obedience, and will attack you if you start to ignore them. If their title begins with 'S' and seems improbably difficult to pronounce, they are probably untrustworthy, and you would do best to wish them a good day, and walk away slowly. Running looks like you have something to hide.

Off to roll diplomacy checks. . .
It's not a bluff if its a slanted truth.

                      Cheers,
                      Kit
