Another newbie...

Hello all, I'm happy to have found this place since from what I have read so far it looks like a great fit for me.

What I'm really looking for is to join up with a group that would meet up once or twice a week at a set time with characters dedicated to that party only. Does that sort of thing happen here?

Also I was wondering, is this a heavy PvP server?

Welcome! We hope you'll like it here.

There have been groups that get together to run dungeons and the like, but for some reason they don't tend to hold together well unless there is dedication from all the players. But don't be discouraged! There are plenty of excellent RPer's who would be willing to give it a shot.

And yes, PvP is a major part of what happens on the server, as conflict between factions is a constant factor.

Well, yes PVP is important. But much depends on what sort of character you play. If you are antagonistic then expect it. If you are non-confrontational.... Anyway PVP is largely a matter of your perspective.

We discourage rampant D-Baggery. (read rules on griefing) and permadeath, while possible is very unlikely.

We do encourage PVP conflict as it drives the story. DMs tend to reward, more heavily, those who are pushing faction agendas and the like.

My advice get logged on find some folks in your timezone. Party up and try them out. If you find a few who you would like to see more often, send them a PM or a tell and try and get a weekly thing set up. I have seen dedicated parties make it but RL and IG impatience tend to see the group eventually separate.

OR

At level 5 join an active faction. This could be a way to get around party fall out, as the group would be based in the faction and as long as that is active you should find some folks to roll with.
