  • Greetings & a few things

I am a long-time D&D fan and player as well as an old NWN 1 player. I've jumped around on NWN 2 servers, not really getting the old D&D atmosphere as of yet. The best has probably been Elements of Aesyr which recently went down and I can draw a few similarities between EoA and Sundren. This server has impressed me so far in terms of the overall quality of RPing and how polished the lore and server itself it is.

Most of you haven't met my first character yet, Rafi Sayf, an arrogant Calishite warrior who is not all that he seems. The reason for that is that I live in Australia so when I'm on at night in my timezone there's usually only 5-20 people on. I've found that the server is most busy on my mornings but since I have work and soccer matches on saturday mornings, the only morning where I can catch a larger amount of players is my sunday morning. So see you then.

I also have a few things to discuss:

I see that Gray Orc is an open race. Since they are, are they KOS, if not shouldn't they be KOS? I personally would not ever want to see an orc version of Drizzt running around. Ever. I've been on a FR server before where there were orcs running around like normal with people befriending which completely killed it for me. I hope not to see people befriending orcs. Orcs are monsters and should stay that way. Perhaps half-orcs might treat orcs differently but other than that...

Bring in the quick hostile button! Yes, I recently met a gray orc that began buffing right in front of me and because I had to take the time to scroll through the player list and hostile him, he got a few more buffs off than my character would have let him.

I'm not totally sure how the reputation thing works. I recently joined the Red Blades with my character. How do I get more reputation points? What exactly do these reputation points do other than the cosmetic effect? Can other people see them?

    Woo an Aussie!

    Welcome

You can gain rep points by capturing banners from hostile areas and returning them to your faction HQ. Another way is by donating money to the "donation box" at your HQ although I haven't tried it yet, as I'm always broke The third way to gain faction Rep is as rewards from a DM for faction quests.

Use for Rep points? The only use I know of is as prerequisites for Faction specific items.

As to quick hostile button..they introduced it in the last update as an option when you Right Click another player.

There's a few from Oceania here, it seems. Welcome!

I haven't seen too many Orcs in-game, so I can't comment on how often they get killed on sight. I imagine that it does happen.

Interestingly, in the posted Sundren law, murder is defined as the premeditated taking of the life or lives of a member or members of the "Good Races". I do not know if this is a deliberate loophole or not..

Excellent choice! I think I've seen you on, but just haven't much been in the same area as you. We have perfect IC reasons to meet up then. Watch for Jennilyn.

As an avid player of orcs, I can say that the majority of the players here respond as they should to an orc, with either fear/fleeing, or outright aggression. I don't know about KOS, but *I* don't mind it.

              Welcome,

Going to keep this super short as I don't want to get into a pissing contest but most of Aesyr's 'technical' staff all used to work on this mod and most of what they had they just ripped off of Sundren's base.

This alone was barely tolerable but the incitement of that group of people to come and post derogatory things on this website and incite flaming has left a very bad taste in my mouth. Let's not dwell at all on the 'merits' of this mod as it has no place on this website.

It scares me to think that people conjure words such as 'best' in hindsight of this information but I'll leave everyone to the right of their opinion...
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

The rep also gives you higher rank as you gain more rep points, with that you can boss the low ranks around.
