  • Purchasing Sundrite Ore

A note is posted at the Exigo Trade Post, the writer quite clearly an individual of some learning.

To those willing to brave the dangers of the Cold Climb, I am offering a reward of 400 stags per half pound (approximately pebble-sized piece) of Sundrite ore.

The ore appears to be quite common in the more Northern slopes, and may possibly be either mined or bartered for with the locals. Good luck with the latter however.

The reward can be claimed at any time in person at the Menacing Mariner in the Port of Avanthyr, and will be paid out in coin or bank note at buyer's preference.

A missive is delivered to the Menacing Mariner addressed to "L. Ell'thariel", and sealed with a bead of brass bearing a stylized gear. The trifolded blue-and-green-edged oilpaper bears the following response:
    Mr. Ell'thariel,

I understand you are seeking quantities of Sundrite. I do, in-fact, possess a humble supply of the material, but am curious to know to what end you intend to apply such a fickle medium. Depending upon your anticipated application, I may be able to allocate both time and resources to your particular project, in additional to potential further opportunities.

My credentials of experience with the substance may be found in the Temple of Oghma public records, Fabricator's Collective Vol. I, Research File 0502. The publication is currently incomplete and does not contain all recent analyses, but should provide a sufficient base-point for further work. Any response or further inquiries may be directed to the same location, addressed to myself.

    Sincerely,
    Craftmagus J. Frazer

A reply to James's letter soon finds its way back into his hands, passed on by the clergy of Oghma.

      Craftmagus Frazer,

I am touched by your interest in my humble research. As a relative newcomer to the valley I would of course welcome any professional contacts with experience in similar experimentation.

I have read over your notes (those which are open to the public at least) within the temple of Oghma, and found them quite intriguing, though it certainly seems there is a great deal remaining to be discovered in terms of quantification of absorption, radiation and I suspect amplification of arcane energies.

Regarding my own research, I intend to focus primarily on the substance and its effects on resonance on planar dimensional axes, its purported stabilisation of gate-like structures and possible interactions between Sundrite and ethereal, astral or other forms of planar travel.

If you have any further insights in any of these areas, or indeed would be willing to sell any of the ore you have collected, any input on your part would be greatly appreciated.

      Regards,
