Multiplayer crash problems?

Over the past few weeks I have been logging onto the server and crashing after about 30 seconds - a minuite. Sometimes it stops at the same place on the first or second transiton whilst I get on the server.
I then have to close the game to desktop most of the time to see the send/don't send error.

I have tried nearly everything - Re-install, re-download sundren things. Still no luck. Most of the time i am able to get in and play without crashes, but as soon as it happens once, i can't get back on again?

Just wondering if anyone knew why as I know it is a problem on my end.

I got the same issue as well.. It normally happens on transitions or sometimes just randomly. I'm thinking there might be a background program that is still running that is causing an interruption and booting me back out to the desktop.

same here im just crashing during transitions.

The best suggestion I can make, is to free up us much of your memory as possible. Don't run IRC or AIM or MSN or Winamp or a MediaServer, or much of anything else in the background.

I get the transition crashes too....but it's usually after hours of playing, and it's because of my memory getting filled up and my computer going WTF. Maybe it has nothing to do with that at all, but worth a try if you ahven't already I suppose? /shrug

I have nothing open behind the game; no firewalls, explorers or anything.
It is probaly something really stupid and obvious I need to change, but for now I am going to re-download the Sundren stuff because this worked once before, meh.

You computer needs coffee. Make it a nice hot cup... freshly ground beans, none of that instant stuff... and just pour it right onto the CPU! Then call your insurance company and say someone broke into the house and did it, but everything else was mysteriously untouched

It might actually be something wrong with your windows install, if you were that desperate you could reinstall windows and see what happens.

Scavar makes a good point. It could be that AVG previously decided that some elements of windows were a virus (not an unreasonable perspective) and chose to **** them up royally. A windows re-install and HDD reformat does wonders when things go really wonky.

Bear in mind that transition crashes are par for the course with NWN2, something that is currently slated be addressed in patch 1.12 (fingers crossed eh?)
