Original disc could not be found or authenticated

I came home from some time away, put in my DVD Rom disc...the loadup screen came up, I hit play, and it says, "Original disc could not be found or authenticated".

I purchased the game legit, and have never had any problems. I tried rebooting, but nothing. Not sure what I should do...any comments or suggestions? There is nothing I did between last time I played and now that would change my computer in any way.

ehrm, try reinstalling? wiping the disk? *Shrug.*

I suggest contacting Atari customer support or see the NWN2 tech support forums...

This is an issue I get with 90% of game DvDs. Always works for me after a couple of retrys. I tend to think it's just because my DvD drive sucks, although it sounds like this isn't the case for you if it's only happening with NWN 2.

I had this happen about 50% of the time that I started the game until I applied the 1.05 beta patch. Now it never happens to me at all. I'm not implying this will work for you, just throwing it out there....

i just had this start happening, wont load at all, i got just got a disk image off the net and loaded it into daemon and now i don't have to wait for this disk to spin up for 5 minutes before telling me the disk is bunk. Don't have to worry about the disk exploding like Hordes of the underdark either.
