Hope Val understands... That the DMs are prepared to let anyone at any level range get revenge for PVP encounters XD.

So he bitchslaps a level 3 to the fugue .. that same guy maybe at level 5 could come back with a single charge wand of disintegrate at level 30 power to come an erase you... lol

Well that was the impression that I got for any unfair PVP encounters. Happy Hunting ^_^

    Right 2 things.

First, about the forest of eternal night.
We all know that when you die, you get sent to that godawful place with the huge shadowy thing. We also know that, when you get sent to this place, you do not lose any of your memories, so have time for some personal reflection. Also, though wounds etc are healed, any diseases you may have had stay on you, so you can suffer from them for eternity (mwahahaha).

Anyway the first crucial point is this: when you get out of that place by some means, you lose memory of stuff prior to your death, as well as the memories withing the Dark Forest.

After escaping this place, it is inevitable you will return to it. Now my question is this:
When you get sent to the forest of eternal night, do the memories of your previous visits there return to you? A rather pointless question and rather undeserving of all the preamble, but one that interests me nontheless.

My second point is just a heads up to everyone out there: Don't piss Val off if you don't like pvp
Val's player is an absolute pvp freak.

He could have been on the path to the Sundren Gate! That is the only place I have ever run into bandits.

I can only guess he walked out of Aquor into the mountains. Which, well, isn't the town, it's the mountains. *shrug*

First know my D&D background, ive been playing tabletop for 6 years now, and dming for four of those. Dm's and the players should not be butting heads but working together to enhance the fun. I honestly dont see this doing that particularly for lowbies who just came on recently. Like me.

Before you get critisizing me about how i havent been around on the server long enough to know maybe listen. I play a character who likes to examine the civilized areas. I go to every town enter every shop and see all the wares. Exploration, i checked this forum because during one exploration in a town i thought was safe, I was attacked and killed by, to say simply rediculously powerful bandits.

Outside of the fact that by hardcore rules bandits probably shoudlnt be any stronger than level 3, they would never be so close to a town. But oh well ist a game random spawns happen.

The problem is being capped at level six all i can do is grind for money, or in short suck, Hang around the campfire hoping for a plot, in the rain, wich is rediculous rp to me anyway, what ever happened to taverns people, or go out and explore unexplored towns.

At my level i figured that hey im good enough to check out towns. Now with this new death system i cant even go shopping without worrying about bieng killed because NEWBIES get the tickets not LOWBIES!... and anyone of low level got the shortest end of the stick here.

My final note here is perhaps the most important. The more strict the rules, and the more grave death is the more rewards adventure should yeild. Use the full EXP bar if your going to have adventure be dangerous. NWN toned down EXP because there was so much combat at such a little detriment, you could rest and heal, as often as you wanted, and death meant nothing. If you must wait to rest, and it only heals a little, and death is semi-permanent, then grant more experience for killing monsters, make slaying that group of bandits feel like more than just one step of grinding.

That is just my opinon as a tabletop player feel free to tear it apart im sure you will
I'm claiming shannanigans. I don't know of a single town with bandits in the server. Please elaborate.

    Jauns is the man.

I like the new system. Why? Because I sucked at soloing anyway

Now the consequences are bad enough to repress the fool in me. Plus, I think it would definately get people to role-play more, and I was always curious as to why we weren't allowed to "meta-game", but the last death mechanic prompted a lot of "meta-gaming".

To clarify: I know why we can't meta-game ITS NOT COOL YO!

Souls in the forest can communicate, they can remember everything that happened to them before they died. However, the moment they resurrect, they lose all memory of the forest and up to 15 minutes of memory of events that happened prior to their death based on the power of the resurrection (the exact details are discussed in the FAQ if I recall)

I like the new system, death should be a scary and have consequences. REAL consequences.

My question now is RP in the forest of eternal night, since this is going to be the new campfire of Sundren. When a character dies from PvE, what does he remember? Can he communicate where he was to other PC's in the forest? Can these "souls" even communicate?

I like the new system and it will definitely make me more cautious. I am one of those that like to explore by themselves on occasion, but will be much more careful when doing it in the future.

Haha.. I like the death system now. Gives me more motivation to play my Assassin. People can get scared now.

Nothin is 100 percent full proof or "fool proof". No matter how you make anytype of system, there is someway that circumstances can cause the system to not be beneficial. Always exceptions.

What is trying to be accomplished here is the death system can work the best for most players and what is most beneficial for the server in the eyes of the "staff".

Remember, there will always be clowns out in the NWN world who will screw things up for the player. Just like there will always be clowns in your real life that will burden your day.

Here is a suggestion.. you feel that something isn't right and it might go to senseless PVP or something to that matter.. take a screenshot!
