I want to put together a small thieves' crew. No fancy ideas here: PCs that want to get rich, and our skills are well-balanced. We'd start with a small background story to tie us together, something where we'd pulled some jobs before as a group. We'd try to level up together as best as we could, at least at first. If conflict comes to split us apart IC down the road, that's all in the name of Fundren!
I'd think a well-rounded thief crew would need:
- A charmer (con man, disguises, bluffing, charisma)
- Muscle (cracks skulls, takes hits, intimidates)
- A cat burglar (acrobat, stealthy)
- The brains (plans out heists, perhaps an arcane caster)
- The tools (locks, traps, perhaps explosives!)
- The lookout (spot, listen, escaping)
These roles could be combined so that one character covers a couple roles, since it would be hard to get 5 going consistently. Also, I'm thinking we're in it for money, but murder could be where we draw the line. Or not - I'm open
