The populace of Sundren city woke up this morning to a dirge of foreign sounding music. Those that drug themselves out of bed to witness this dawn procession, found a fairly elaborate funeral taking place all in the Elven motif. Word spreads that this Elven funeral was not for a local, but an ambassador from a new state far to the east, and these elves who had come from Moonwood were here to advance relations, trade, and it was hoped an alliance with Sundren.
Their mission didn't come to fruition though, as their party was savaged by one of the many raiding bands of bloodmaim that are scouring the region. All but one were kidnapped, but the suvival Qwethnell by name, had found the support of a few local hero's who helped track down, and rescue the remaining diplomats. Qwethnell, however fell in combat within the Mossdale, and his surviving companions had to cut short their hopeful mission in order to deal with their loss. The city of Sundren though, helped finance this elaborate funeral as goodwill to the griefstricken ambassadors in order to help smooth over any wrinkles that this unfortunate encounter may have caused with a possible ally.
