Dearest Ru'umel,
You're off on patrol again, so you'll not see this until well after I'm gone I imagine. I am taking a short trip for a while, but I will be back. The troubles in the valley are getting to me and I have to leave for a while to straighten my head out. To much has happened over the last year, and, as you've said, I haven't really figured out how to heal myself. Before I can really be of help to the valley again, in a meaningful way, I have to figure out my own feelings on things, what I really want besides you.
The process will take as long as it needs to, but by the time I come back, I expect some things will have changed, hopefully some of the ones that really do need to change. The apathy of the adventurers in the valley is palpable. Although I still think Hano was a little to blunt and uncaring with his words, he may have a point. I need time away to heal my own heart as I can, but I cannot do that in the valley itself, the wounds are still to close for that.
Know that I love you, and that I will be missing you and your arms until I return, and I hope that you understand this need.
