  • Two letters left for Osclow Wiltenholm at the Four Lanterns Inn

Tucked in an envelope is a letter destined to some place far away from the valley of Sundren...

    Hello Katie,

It has been some time ago since you left our cold and rainy valley behind you. Regardless of what you thought back then and might still now, your presence among us is sorely missed. I still do hope to see you return some day, or maybe see my own path cross yours if fate allows it, but if that can't happen then I will rest easy with the thought that you have found a place you can truly call your own.

That is one of my reasons for writing you this letter, the other is to express to you that I am sorry. Your disappearance was sudden and unexpected, and I regret to this day that I never got the chance to give you my goodbyes. I would probably have tried to make you stay and would probably have failed, but I still wish I could have been there on that moment. To be there for you to make you feel respected, accepted and cared about. And not alone in this world that sometimes leaves us with the feeling that nothing we try ever works out the way we would have hoped it would.

Sadly, that couldn't be, so I will just put my words to you on paper here. I want to thank you for all you've done for Sundren and for me personally. Just know that you aren't forgotten and will live on in our hearts. And I hope that, even though your time here was hard, that you too will cherish the fond memories of the better moments we shared. Our talks, our adventures and the fun we had together (yes, I'll even admit that - looking back at it - the kiss wasn't so bad at all). Goodbye Katie. I miss you already.

    Your friend,
    Yashia Jadysvarion

... and another to the messenger himself is left with it.

    Good morning, Osclow.

If you read this, then you must have made it to the inn on your own strength. But don't you think for one second that it means I won't be offerring to assist you the next time I see you almost slip over the brink of exhaustion! We still have to get even with that, I think...

Anyway, I hope you slept well on the last night before you embark on your journey, and that you are greeted with a bright dawn rather than a rainstorm. Although the latter would set the right, dreary atmosphere to lead in a weeks-long absence of your aura of cheerfulness. I'm counting on you to stick with your promise of returning soon.

In case we don't meet again before you take your leave, I wish you and Fenton a safe and fruitful journey. May the light of sun and stars give you warmth and comfort, and guide you on your path away from here, but especially on your way back home.

    See you in a while!
    Yashia.
