Erfel, dressed from head to toe in leathers, covered in pockets, and his face obscured by a complex pair of goggles, nervously enters the Exigo factory in Sundren City and waves down an employee.
"Er, ahh, hello! um..." He holds up a folded parchment, sealed with wax but with no insignia upon it. "I, um, have this t-to give t-t-to someone who's... um... in charge."
The gnome beams up with a wide grin at the employee, waiting for directions or someone to take the letter. Once the parchment is safely in someone else's hands, he takes his time departing, peering curiously into corners and at all that is going on inside the building, quite fascinated by it all.
----- The letter reads:
Sir or Madam,
Upon my recent arrival at my latest destination, which is to say the Valley of the Sunderer, I was promptly and completely delighted and arrested by the discovery of the technological achievements of your wonderful organization. The arachnid automatons are a fantastic achievement, and I hope that your golem prototype will join them in being an example of the fabulous possibilities of artifice and craftsmanship.
I myself am exceedingly interested and competent in the areas of engineering and the design and construction of basic technological wonders, although my ambitions far exceed the mere meniality of basic mechanics.
In the interest of pursuing my further learning in the arts and crafts of technological artifice, and of furthering also my financial and material capacity for the construction and testing of prototypes of my design, I am beginning pursuit of a position in cooperation with your great organization. It seemed to me that an arrangement wherein I rendered unto the Exigo Group a certain portion of my time and nigh unlimited access to what expertise I possess in the fields of clockworks, steamworks, alchemy, and the fabrication of machinery both basic and complex, and the Exigo Group in return rendered financial stability and the tools and workspace necessary in my work for them and the development of some few side projects would be a most tenable arrangement for both parties concerned.
I may be reached with your response at the Four Lanterns Inn, Room 3, just outside the southern city gates.
Gond inspire,
-Erfel "blastweevil" Wedsegadinadd.
