  • A letter to the druids of the grove

    Fellow druids,

I'll begin with a short introduction. My name is Serena Taintedblood, and I am a druid in Silvanus' image. I am also a tiefling, descended from demons. I might be known for my temper or foul mouth, or just the horns growing out of my head, but I am who I am. Who I am has always demanded more focus to keep the balance within myself. There is no doubt that by cultivating my ties to nature, through Silvanus' teachings, nature has in turned cultivated a certain temperance in me, helping me steer away from the extremes my ancestors are.

I believe some of you may know that I have been searching for a way to grow a tail. My particular heritage is known to lend itself to such a feature, however, it is also obvious I was born without. After discussions with several powerful mages on the matter, I've realized one thing: that I can't trust their use of magics to help me. Their magics are like a fist where a steady open palm is more appropriate. Their words are impatient and hasty where time is not of the essence.

So it has dawned on me that I should not ask a bear to do the tasks a wolf is more suited to. Thus I come seeking the aid of my fellow druids. I believe I am well aware of the bias against me and my task. But if I am to receive help in this goal, it should come from my brothers and sisters of the wilds.

I have two basic hypothesis to accomplish my goal that I need help in researching to their potential.

The first is most preferable, and likely simplest. But it remains uncertain. I am of a mind to believe that we could learn to restore limbs to creatures born without limbs they would naturally have. Where a wolf might be born with only three limbs, we could logically find a way to restore his natural form and give him four. And similarly, where I am born without my tail, this method might also give me my tail.

The second idea is admittedly dangerous, and also uncertain. But it hinges on something that might not be possible. Namely, I am of the belief that through Reincarnation, I could gain a new body with a tail. Further, I believe that it should be possible, with more powerful magic or ritual, to form the new body to its desired shape and nature.

Those are my hypotheses. I could go on and on, discussing the many reasons for this, and much more, but it would be better to speak more in person. As a group or as individuals, I await your replies.

    Sincerely,
    Serena Taintedblood
