A message left in a hole on the dead oak

A message is left in a hole at the dead oak in viridale. Its written in ink and good handwriting.

To whom it may concern,

I Alyssandra De'Whelm and my friend Hogar Skullcrusher assaulted the gnoll camp where the creatures had holed up to plan for an attack. We were able to fight well enough to defeat some of them while the rest scattered and escaped. I believe there was talk of some sort of compensation.
