Dear Brigadier Blackbeard,
I was approached by Vindir regarding your proposed mission into Fire Giant territory, for treasure hunting purposes. I won't lie, my first reaction was quite negative- with well founded reasons. I absolutely do not want repercussions to befall Arquor. As you may or may not know, the Emperor in his benevolence has granted the old Pendraig Holding to House Hellstrom, and Cyrus van Hellstrom has thusly granted that holding into my care. Which means I have a very vested interest in keeping the city safe from Fire Giant attack.
Still, I have absolutely no authority to dictate what you do in your own time- and it appears you are willing to pay a sizeable sum to those you contract to go with you.
With that knowledge in mind, I am hereby agreeing to the terms of offering my aid in scouting in exchange for the sum of twenty thousand stags, with the stipulation that we discuss, prior to the undertaking, how to prevent any hardship befalling the city of Arquor.
