A letter is left for Michael at the barracks of the Triad, sealed in wax with the Northern Watch's emblem stamped crudely in.
Michael,
I first wish to express the pride I've felt in having such a capable man as my Squire for these past months. You are, in many ways, a better soldier than I against the Black Hand and those others that plague this Valley.
However, in light of recent events, actions, and troubles brought to my attention, I am hereby notifying you of your release from my service and that of the Northern Watch. As you know, we're a small organization and close-knit, which means everyone must work together towards common goals and see eye-to-eye.
We all foresaw possible troubles squiring an Ilmateri to a Helmite. A pairing you see done rarely, and for good reason. I accept responsibility for this error - I was eager to see more strong arms and even stronger hearts within the ranks of the Watch and did not stop to give thought to the long term repercussions. Which are, simply put, that your take on Ilmater's doctrine is not compatible with the Watch's ideology.
In regards to the measure you seek against the Colibrites, nothing has changed. I offer my assistance and that of the Watch in what ways the Grandmaster sees fit, if you would still have us.
It was an honor and a pleasure serving with you Michael, and I hope our friendship remains. Blessings of the Three in your service to the Triad, and may the Watcher keep you safe.
