I write to you now with a heavy heart and conscience. The trials of this world have given me one which is a most grievous failing. I did perform harm upon another without taking all of the factors into consideration and brought them low prior to ensuring their intent. In doing so I have brought dishonour to my Order and the Church, while the elf was indeed evil, and yet lives the deed was perforned without honor and must be given consequence.
It is with this truth I impart these ill tidings and ask your understanding that I seek penance, however I am unworthy of bearing arms or trappings of war for this misdeed. Gods be willing I will be found worthy once more to take up the cause we both so greatly desire. I cannot in good conscience lead another Knight or squire after my own failings.
Should your Lordship be willing I beg your mercy to guide and guard Presea while I seek silent vigil and guidance through temperance. In silent supplication I pray to find the will of the Three and how I may atone for this most vile act I will remain at the old keep until clarity find me, or death take me.
Never was my intent or will to bring any harm to the church, myself or any member of the Orders or innocents of this world. My actions in a single stroke have me undone, I must take responsibility for that failing and pray your understanding.
