Sir Tornbrook,
I write to speak on behalf of the man known as 'Gray' and to a lesser extent Xaayne Zek as well.
It is my understanding that the initial crime of 'Gray' was attempting to claim the Legion's camp outside the Viridale for himself. If that ever were the case, which he has assured me it was not, he has since relinquished any desire or hold on the land. I personally spoke to him before and after he was accused and his story has been consistent throughout. In his own words, he only wished to utilize the camp as a barrier against those which dwell within the forest; as was its original purpose. I consider myself a good judge of deceit and his words seemed true. If my presence in any affair regarding him could help prove his innocence I gladly offer myself.
As a general statement, we should not punish the people of the valley for taking up arms in their own defense. If anything, efforts such as these should be facilitated or at least praised.
From my time speaking with Xaayne Zek I believe his intent is similar.
With the Black Lord's strength as it is now within the valley we should exercise our laws to protect the people as they were designed; not persecute them over petty, self given titles or misunderstandings of underutilized land.
