A small letter is left with a nearby Guardsman at the Legion Camp at the edge of the Viridale. It's script is simple, but written with great care:
Dear Commander of the Viridale Legion Camp,
I regret that I do not know your name, but would like to learn it so I may address you properly. I believe you already know of me; your scouts have encountered me frequently in the wilds, and while they were hesitant as is to be expected, they always treated me with politeness and respect. My name is Nadya, also known as the "tailed girl" of the Virdale. Some call me a witch, but I want to assure you that my magic means you nor anyone any harm.
I will get the point: The Viridale is no longer safe for me. The Wardens have fragmented, and with them, my sanctuary in the Forest. The Orcs may have been pushed back thanks to the actions of the Legion and it's allies, but they still roam across the trails and groves I have called home this past year. Sundren is changing, and with it the Viridale; I can no longer call it a place of refuge from the outside world.
Though I know what I am prevents me from ever living life as a normal citizen, I hoped there might be something I can do for you and your soldiers, if you would allow me to stay within the Legion camp. I fought alongside many of you in the Battle for the Viridale one week ago, where I tended your wounded and helped hold the lines. I am no warrior, but if you allow me I will treat injuries, fetch water, scrub pots, anything at all you might need. I ask for no payment or favor in return, only a safe place I might rest at night. I believe Centurio Emiliana Blackwell can confirm that I assisted you at the battle; though I do not know her opinion of me as a person, I believe her to be a honorable woman who would confirm that I lended support to the Legion.
Even if you answer is no, I thank you anyway for receiving this letter. The Legion has not harbored me any ill will in the past, and I will harbor them none in return. Thank you for your time.
