  • A letter for Dain Tornbrook

The following sealed letter is hand delivered to the Triumvirate by a blonde moustachioud man in black armour, carrying a shield decorated with the insignia of Hoars faithful.

    Dear Mr Tornbrook,

Firstly, I must apologise for having to do this by letter, I have made numerous attempts to meet you in person but alas the fates have conspired to prevent our meeting.

I have been undertaking an investigation into some rather disturbing rumours, namely that it is by your hand that the foul minions of the Lord of Bones came into possession of an article required to bring Him back to power. This would be disturbing enough, but I've heard with some frequency that you gave this article of your own free will.

I've heard this story from a good number of sources now, while I initially dismissed it as idle camp-fire gossip some of the tellers have been of to good a standing in society to dismiss. Even the Hands of Mundus's agents claim these rumours as truth.

I have walked this land for some time, and seen the death and devastation wrought by those who serve the Black Hand and the Lord of Bones. I've seen the rot and chaos that spills from the Necropolis, blighting souls and lives. You must share a part of the guilt for each and every death or loss inflicted upon the good people of Sundren by the servants of darkness you so blindly empowered.

It is clear that your temple has seen fit to ignore your part in this travesty, no doubt you and your kin accept such terrors as acceptable losses. Fortunately, there are those of us who work not for grand and luscious temples, but for the people of the land in all their shapes and forms.

It is my hope that you will see your part in the crimes against the people of this land, and do the honourable thing and fall upon your sword in the privacy of your own temple. I do not doubt that you have done enough in your time to earn a state funeral for your actions.

If you are a coward, and cannot face the consiquences of your actions, then know that I and others will show no clemency in our quest to see justice done for those you have so terribly wronged.

    Yours sincerely,

    Champion.
