Mathell seals the envelope with a notable weariness, quickly relaying the item to a runner,
who in turn makes his way to another sure-footed messenger.
The letter safely kept within follows as such,
"To whomever revered figure of the Church this letter ultimately falls into the hands of - Well met.
I am servant of the Lord of the Dead, Judge of the Damned and revered Master of the Crystal Spire.
My name is Mathell, and I write to you from the city of Sundren.
I am most recently in travel from Luskan territory, and before it the city of Skilled Hands.
I had made my way to this land in order to not only fulfill my duties as a Cleric to those without the aid and knowledge of a Kelemvorite, but also further the faith in all those ignorant of it. Through chance or fate, I have been made aware of a site that was once a temple of our faith, now burnt and lying in disrepair. More disturbingly than the lack of a base in the area, or the decimation of the temple itself - Is the inhabitants it now houses.
Undead of considerable strength and prowess roam freely and without restraint among the ruins, both within and without.
Such creatures are in their very existence, obviously, an unacceptable and inexcusable thing.
While I have taken it upon my self to rid the immediate area of it's unsightly locals,
they are both far too many in number and strength to purge alone.
I am sure the Church understands the importance not only of seeing to the destruction of these unholy creatures,
but also the eventual restoration of our temple in Sundren.
It is for such a cause that I write the present letter.
While I am unsure of distance, being as that I have instructed the carrier of this letter to seek out the nearest temple
that may be found, but not known; I must nevertheless request with all urgency whatever aid may be spared,
so as to see to this considerable threat.
I fear any delay in resolving this threat will only worsen the locals' opinions on not only our faith,
but also the competence of the clergy itself, while our most unholy foes now litter our sacred grounds.
I await your reply with the utmost eagerness.
Respectfully,
-Mathell, servant and Cleric of Kelemvor."
(( This is something I had forgotten about, and was a little forum-shy about posting to begin with.
Something I was referred to writing up for the sake of character-plot development, concerning, obviously, my cleric Mathell.
Apologies to the DMs for taking so long on this one. ))
