Master Pentec was heading up to his room in the Menacing Mariner when he spotted a new face at the establishment. He made his way over to the dwarf and tapped him on the shoulder. The dwarf wheeled about to see who was interrupting his drinking to find a wizard in rather exotically colored robes looking at him with a look of recollection. He looked at the older humans face for a good moment and then when the silence was about to become awkwardly long a glint of recognition found its way to the dwarf’s eyes. Pentec Lad? He hesitated as he stated it because the name he spoke belonged to a much younger man as he recalled, but there was a familiarity to the man’s face and eyes.
The white bearded wizard smiled and nodded. Bah By Moradin! He reeled back on his stool a moment.. “God’s lad ye’ve gotten old fer a hume!” Pentec just continued his knowing grin having anticipated that the long-lived dwarf would recognize how the near two decades had aged him unlike the dwarf he had met those decades ago. The two began to chat and catch up for what seemed a great long while about everything past and present. From the time of Pentecs yearlong visit to the Citadel of Adbar where he learned his craft from the dwarves, up until both of their eventual arrival in Sundren.
The dwarf communicated his disappointment that his kin lay scattered in the land of sundren and wished that he could have some better way to rally them. He stated how Boflasia his friend had attempted to rally the dwarves again in recent months since the group known as the Skullcleavers disappeared. Pentec saw the sadness in his old friends eyes and knew he had to do something. After all he owed much to the hearty folk who taught him so much and sheltered him for a year. He and the dwarf discussed the Dwarven brigade a while longer and Pentec offered to his friend to give a good reason for his kin to gather and a common banner they could rally to.
Pentec and his friend set out to prepare a dwarven fighting force and to reignite the flame of the Skullcleavers and unite the dwarves of Sundren.
Pentec altered the original insignia he managed to find of the emblazoned skull with a double bladed war axe engraved on it, and added flames to engulf it all as his own special touch. He began crafting suits of full mail, shields, helms, and axes of cold iron all bearing the insignia. Once his work was done he set to minor enchant all the items to better aid the brigade’s warriors. Within a few days time they have already rallied and armed 5 dwarves to the cause…
