Daelus woke in pain, his head throbbed. The sunlight that filtered through the window of the Inn room he had rented was like a bright dagger, driving itself into his brain. "Never again," he swore to no one particular, "if it will get rid of this pain I'll never drink again..."
Trying to focus through the aching torment that threatened to empty his stomach, he vaguely recalled the prior night's events...
Cazen and he were antagonizing someone, when this stumpy Dwarf tried to butt into the evening's entertainment. Daelus was using his talent for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time when, what he was told was an Ogre with a club (The ogre's name was Cazen with the hilt of a blade was his club) unleashed the beast on the back of his head, knocking him out cold...
Apparently after the ogre was subdued, Lauan had carried Daelus to the Four Lantern's Inn, where he awoke when his head connected with the table after he was dumped into a chair. Lauan then brought over a bottle of something called "Dragon's Breath" so they could both be relieved of their headaches...
It worked for a time, Daelus mused, but then I had to bloody wake up. He felt the back of his head, the knot was mostly gone, but there was still dried blood in his hair. Wincing, he got out of the bed and closed the curtains to the window with the offending sunlight. I have to wonder though... How did I get here and where are my bloody clothes?
