With the cover of darkness and the roaring storm to silence his steps, Zack slipped into the town of Aquor. He pulls his hood over his head while walking past the stationary guard at the entrance to the town, standing there under the light post, supposedly ever-vigilant.
"I couldn't be Zack. Never could. He was pure. He was clean -- I'm just a tiefling." The thought plagues him as he descends the stairs, heading toward the bridge over the lake.
"I'm unnatural? I don't have a place in this balance, or anywhere to belong? I'll show them. I'll <censored> show them. They shun me, refuse to love me, and even take everything I worked so hard to get -- My food, and my healing supplies."
Zack continues harder now, driven by his anger for those that attacked him. Even then, his steps fall lightly on the cobblestone flooded over with water from the rain.
"Even when I did nothing but tell the truth, when all I ever did was be honest with them -- I even went out of my way to kill that Drow so they would know I'm on their side."
The tiefling stops, holding his hands out to catch the rain while looking at the shadow of the Thayan Enclave sitting in the skies, cast by a flash of lightning.
"I'll make a place for Zack to live. I'll make a place in the balance for Zack, and then I'll become him. People don't like me when I'm honest?"
Reaching into his pouch, his eyes settle on a Thayan Knight stationed at the Enclave's gates. "Then I'll lie, cheat, kill, and take." He approaches the knight, offering him an envelope and card.
The envelope containing the very information that was asked of Zack. Within it contained his biggest hope. The only chance Zack had to become more than a play -- Even if it meant being a pawn once more. The card there to ensure it was received by who had asked of it.
