Marek is a bit of an interesting character I thought up inbetween being in the toolset and... well living. 
Marek was born in Sundren City which gave him many ripe opportunities for profession. However, Marek was born to a noble family with many key relations in Sundren. Marek's ancestors, referred to as the "Ethos" were once planewalkers and astral travellers. While Marek does not possess these abilities, he does posses a supernatural bloodline which is why he became a warlock.
Some might ask the specifics of his bloodline, his true heritage he keeps secret however for obvious reasons. Marek can be seen as an observer mostly, watching adventurers lose their lives getting mobbed by goblins and other creatures. He makes friends fairly easy and is rather charismatic. Like most people however, he can only be pushed so far before he takes action, he is generally non-hostile and somewhat of a historian due to the nature of his work. When pushed too far, he is more than ready to reveal his large array of warlock abilities.
I suppose I should mention as a side note Marek worships Jergal (more on that later).
That's the jist of it for now. I have been toying with the idea in my head of seeking out some of the more seasoned roleplayers in Sundren to perhaps have another character or two in his family bloodline.
