Nulinus lay the oversized tome he had been examining down on the table, having taken such with him from the ruins of his old him. He stared out his inn room window, out into the sundren gate, trying to comprehend all the facts Hano had beaten him down with a couple nights ago. With a drawn out sigh, he rose slowly, making his was to the door, already dressed in his full plate.
He set out, intent on gathering a small group of people to head into the untrodden grounds, to see if he couldn't uncover any clues, or maybe gather more information. He gathered all three of them, and sproached them in the viridale. Pom, Hano, and Osclow, set out to the forest, traversing the thick tree's and wild animals hoping to make them their dinner.
An arrow wizzed passed Nulinus's head, then another nearly missing Osclow. The third rrow found its mark in his full plate, as well as the others. The arrows came from no where, and then stopped as quickly as they came. Hano began to tense, and they found themseles running full speed to the crossroads, as Hano had suspicion there would, or was trouble at hand. Tamyrn had been captured, according to the paladin. Unluckily for Nulinus, his armor was not built for speed or comfort, he dragged it all the way to the crossroads.
There was no trouble when the four had arrived, but there was trouble once they discovered the true nature of the so called kidnapping. A voice was heard from the shadows, unfamiliar, but assuring there was someone there. They griped their weapons and formed a defensive ring. The voice laughed, as an arrow shot out from no where, but easily deflected by the quality armor, and Pom's enchantments. The fighting had broke out, or the small sparatic confrontations of the assassins. There must have been six or seven, Nulinus thought, but cutting off his thought was knife in the back, which he found vengence for, swinging around wildly, striking true before it faded away. Nulinus waited for the next strike to hit him, so he may hit him again, stupid, but effective, since the druids healing spells were fast at work.
The day was lost, as it became overwhelming, and they ran off to Exigo to fight another day. Their motives, unknown. Maybe they were out to kill Hano for losing the artifact. Or Nulinus, for surviving his terrible journey. Mayhap Pom for his druidic knowledge, or for Osclows funny hat. We may never know, but Nulinus planned to find out.
