Deep within the jade labyrinth of the Viridale Forest, Elusa laid sprawled out on a grassy hilltop, slightly above the canopy of the rest of the forest. For the first time in hours, the rain had stopped for long enough to set up a fire. Though the clouds threatened to drop their loads once more, Elusa jumped at the chance to make progress in her recent project, a dusty book from the Sundren library entitled The Nether Scrolls. Fortunately, the tears of the sky had dried up for the night.
Many hours later, Elusa breathed a sigh of annoyance as the orange light of a crackling fire danced across the pages of her tome. Her eyelids had become increasingly heavy as the night went on, more from boredom than lack of sleep. She was frustrated, from lack of progress and lack of results. I can know everything there is to know about the Netherese, but it comes to nothing if I can't prove there's an avatar of Selune in that damned cube. She resisted the urge to throw the book in the fire. It would have satisfied a growing urge, but not solved anything.
For a moment, the clouds opened up long enough for a ray of moonlight to break through. The light illuminated a portion of text missed by the dying firelight. Smiling, Elusa rolled over and stared at the moonmaiden's orb. Thank you. I think I know where to search next.
