Journal Entry Kythorn 2, 1372: Year of the erratic magic
I have happily found the library of Sundren and it is as I have read. I have never seen so many tomes. One could lose yourself with so much knowledge. You have not found my remarks for the last few days as testament to the wealth of information these halls contain.
Sundren seems to be a bastion of law and order. It is worthy place of for a home. Even though many of the guards complain of troubles occurring. I will have to inquire more to a more knowledgeable individual on the lawlessness existing in the city and offer any solutions I can come up with.
Last night while exploring the university and subsequently becoming lost. I came across a knight of Torm, Hano. He seems to be a very dedicated individual. During our discussion of various subjects and a visit to the bathhouse, I learned of a death mage, Samantha, who is attempting to craft a new arcane tome to house her necrotizing spells. The curious construction of this tome is that she is attempting to reconstruct it using elven skin. I am curious as to the mystic reason for such a task. Would the elven's magical heritage absorb her arcane sigils more and empower her spells with their high magic or would it just be a normal spellbook.
I am currently attempting to unearth any knowledge in the library or perhaps should I not find any leads in the library I may have to find the university and task a professor. It is a curious predicament this city has and perhaps Oghma is guiding me to situations that will further my mystical expansions. The days have been interesting none the least. Much better than the nauseous ship trip over and the insanely long ride to the City.
*sealed and chronicled*
