The night was cool, and the air brimmed with rage. However, only if you knew where to look. He darted through the shade of the trees, this way and that. If you noticed, you would see that he was following some depressions in the ground, yet at the same time blending into the vegetation around him. He kept on going on his path until he came to a clearing. The quarry was there, peacefully grazing. The largest he had taken down was a dire badger, although this would be slightly more troublesome. The large dire bear was still, keeping to its spot.
He notched his arrow and took aim, just in between the ears. Svvving!! The arrow flew through the night and lodged itself into the bear. However this did not kill the creature but merely enraged it. It looked around for its attacker and saw Jasareth, quickly drawing his two swords. The bear let out a roar and charged him. Jasareth jousted with the bear and cut it on its side as he ran past.
The bear turned, now more enraged. It charged again with maddening ferocity. Jasareth stood ready but suddenly there were another three arrows in the bear's skull. Jasareth's father jumped down a tree.
"What do you think you are doing?" he said angrily in elvish.
"Leave me alone," Jasareth replied, equally angry that his bear had been killed by another.
"You would've got killed, you foolish child!"
"It was either the bear or you! I'm surprised you didn't let it finish me, would've been convenient for you, grey," he said with added venom. His father, however, did not flinch.
"You dare insult me? Who are you? He who nearly got slain by his foolishness? And I save you and this is the thanks I get?"
"Save me? You stole my kill!"
"I saved your life, runt!"
Jasareth breathed deeply, angrily. "I would be far better off without yo--" Suddenly he was punched in the face and his father stood there over him. He looked around, then down at Jasareth, then left.
Jasareth coughed a bit, then eyed his father leaving. His anger welled up inside of him burst and he stuck amongst the shadows ran ahead of his father. He quickly and quietly scaled a tree in the path and slowly drew his blade. He saw his father walk in from the distance. He waited until just the exact moment and then dived, blade first.
