*You see a man, possibly in his late 20's or early 30's. He stands a good 2 inches above the average male, his proud stature hinting at skill with the blade. He appears calculating and brooding... Yet he carries himself with confidence and grace. He acknowledges you watching him with a plastered, borderline smug grin, and his eyes meet your own in an unflinching stare.*
HISTORY :
Polaris was born into a wealthy family in Baldur's Gate, who were all murdered in cold blood by a lone killer. Polaris, still a mere child, witnessed it all.
Now alone, he was forced into the llife of a street urchin, and he would immediately find himself in the "wrong" part of town. He made contacts. Many and early.
When he had grown to his full proportions he began working random tasks for local crime syndicates. Pressuring people for indebted coin, murdering people for debts not payable in coin...
His unyielding efficiency would soon reach the ears of those listening from without the city walls.
By the age of 30 he would have assassinated for the Zhentarim, gathered information for the Shadow Thieves, served as a personal guard for one of the Host Tower Masters of Luskan as well as functioned as a personal agent to countless ambitious and power-hungry dukes throughout the Sword Coast... Among other things.
At the age of 32 he was framed by the Harpers, and after a botched attempt at his life he was forced to seek refuge in the reclusive Sundren.
APPEARANCE :
Polaris stands 6'2" tall and weighs approximately 155 pounds. He is a relatively thin man, yet surprisingly powerful.
He has jet black eyes.
His hair is dark brown. He keeps it modestly short and heavily oiled into a slick.
He takes great pride in his thin-trimmed moustache.
He isn't an unattractive man, but women tend to find him "peculiar", to say the least. Which is probably for the best... He isn't relationship material.
PERSONALITY :
Knowing little to no compassion nor morals, there isn't much he would have qualms about doing. Yet he still fancies himself better than the common criminal.
He is incredibly cool, pretty much always keeping his head. It isn't easy to phase him in any way really. He won't feel threatened, frightened or aggrovated by anything anyone does. He does get a big head at times though, so taunting him "might" work. If you're lucky. Make that unlucky. If Polaris feels he is being ridiculed, he would most likely kill you.
He's deadly with his curved blade, nicknamed the "Pugilist". A contradiction in terms really, but Polaris thinks that's hilarious. Worn and notched, he must easily have dispatched over a hundred men with it... Yet it remains a viciously effective weapon.
Within the "right circuits", he would have a grim reputation indeed. Polaris often plays upon this to get what he wants. Intimidation is a fort? of his.
He lies. All the time. He enjoys it. He's also very good at it. Bluffing is a fort? of his.
Polaris likes nothing more than to manipulate the strings behind several opposing factions simultaneously, toying them into a macabre play of murder and deceit.
//And that's essentially my character
I'm not sure whether or not I'll continue in this thread with a journal type thing for him... I probably won't since I'm very lazy. //
