Waves crash agaisnt the hull of the ship as Tomar looks to the horizon, and his thoughts drift to a distant place. North of El Gabor high atop the Scorched Mountains lay the ruins of his families keep. Many nights have passed and days spent wandering the barren lands of the Riverdale province, once a fertile land that over a short time had fallen to savage warlords and the brutal dictator Izrin. It has been a little over a month since the fall of the resistance of which Tomar's family was very much a part of. He had always been the smartest of his two brothers and as such was sent off to study under the eldar wizard Dingan. It was in that time period when the war began. Far away in the village of Garl where Tomar had been assigned to decifer tomes found under the local monestary, he recieved word of the impending invasion and the first town to be struck. El Gabor stood little chance and most fled to the mountains. The mountain keep was well fortified but would only last a few weeks with the supplies stockpiled. Tomar set out to try and aid his family, but his journey would take days. Nevertheless that would not set him back, and not even the warnings of his mentor could sway his decision. Unfourtunatly by the time he had arrived his worst thoughts were realized. The keep had barely stood a chance, the enemy force was like a wave rushing over the shore and no one had been left alive. Bodies of dwarf and human alike lay desicrated, and the keep sacked beyond repair. Lightning strikes the water and Tomar is snapped back to his bleak reality. Thoughts of his past life drift away like the mist from his breath. "It felt so real.." he thought to himself, "How I wish I could see them once more". His thoughts now change to hope as he spots land ahead. Tomar had recently bought passage aboard one of the last ships leaving Riverdale. The destination of the ship was a land he had heard of in books he studied in Dingans keep. "Sundren" he said to himself, " Father be with me".
