Drake walks down the usual trodden paths looking for foul works playing in the night. Undead in general of course - but specifically hunting for the vampires. Per usual he does not travel without a good bit of his wards up and weapons enchanted. Whistling a happy tune and and lighted orb above his head, he makes no attempt to hide himself from possible enemies... Not that he could -even with Mithral armor and weaponry he still sounds like a normal walking foot solider.
Clank - clank - clank.
"I wonder what I'll find this night that needs placed to rest?"
Clank - clank - clank.
"Oh! What if I find a necromancer, that'd be so intriguing!"
Clank - clank - clank.
"Or maybe even a ---------"
Drake's voice falls silent as he comes upon the unconscious bodies of Nora and Jebthor. Their is blood surrounding their bodies however Drake can tell they are not dead... he can still feel an essence of their life still within' - however he quickly realizes the wounds on the neck. Something was feeding - something was not done... He looks about to the shadows as if it'd make a difference - he already knew what was coming...
Swing!
A scythe decapitates it's mark - fully severed... Luckily it was not the actual correct target. Drake teleports instantaneously from the immediate area - not far - just behind a tree. His first instinct is to survive - he disappears with a greater invisibility. He knew he could be smelled --- he knew he had limited time. However he'd been in enough fights to already be casting what was needed - before the next strike came, Drake was ready.
Whish! Cling, cling, CLING!
Arrows flew by his person, two blocked blows from a great sword - the second deflected - and the third one being locked on blade with the vampire. Drake fully armed with wards, the blessing of Lathander, and finally the magical empowerment of Tensers, he looks the vampires in it's cold, dead helmet.
"You almost had me! But Lathander's light will put you to rest!"
A hiss heard from the vampire as Drake manages to push him back! Three arrows fly dead on into an image of Drake and another image taken down by the great sword wielding follower!
The mortals were limited by the images however Drake knew his biggest target was the actual Vampire - the one that could see through the images but not through the displacement of his spell.
"Come foul beast - taste the burning, magical, undead-slaying blade I've prepared!"
Again the foul hiss follows - with the empowerment of the magic in his body he manages to submit the Vampire to the ground with a would-be fatally empowering strike. It's only stunned - only a brief second - enough for Drake to charge the arrow shooter! With a quick cleave the man is in two and Drake only has one image left - shortly. It's gone by the time he turns to see the two-handed mortal's blade in the ground from an attempted life-ending blow... it however left him open...
"Just you and me...."
Drake stands looking at the vampire whose Scythe is ready. Standing next to the man he had just slashed fully open, the vampire gives a chuckle. Drake cocks his head and grins under his hat.
"Last chance to leave - one way or another I guarantee you the two on the ground that are not yours will be coming back with me."
The vampire takes a moment to consider and looks back to Drake. It charges - it's a mistake made that leaves the Vampire misting and returning to it's place of rest.
Drake picks up Nora and Jebthor, one on each shoulder, while still empowered by the Tensers. He walks down the usual trodden path to return those needed somewhere safe, to rest, to heal up for their future adventures.
