  • Transmutation: Prying Open the Third Eye

    Subject 3312
    Sex: Male
    Race: Genasi
    Sub-type: Fire
    Weight: Unknown
    Length: Unknown
    Age: Unknown
    Color: Ebony skin, red hair.

Subject 3312 is a standard male genasi of the fire subtype, physically. Where the subject stands out from amongst the rest of its breed is through the metaphysical; the subject is richly endowed with powers beyond this realm. Likely, his powers are hell-borne, but that is currently beyond the scope of my following experiment. The focus of this experiment will be on the hole burrowed into subject's forehead. I will be exporting data collected from Subject 393, a Thayan genasi male, to understand the proportions and operations of Subject 3312.

Subject 3312, in an effort to expand its powers, drilled a hole in the center of its forehead. The hole is perfectly centered on Subject 3312's forehead, and the hole 25mm in diameter, roughly the diameter of an average male adult eye. What makes the hole curious is, despite its apparent hollowness, the hole holds the supernatural ability to see the unseen. The repercussion of this supernatural enhancement is that Subject 3312's normal physical being cannot handle the sensory overload, causing his natural sight to fail.

    Experiment 1.0
The objective is to explore the hole burrowed into Subject 3312's forehead. We will test two hypothesis of my own during these experiments to understand the nature of this hole.

Hypothesis 1: The hole within Subject 3312's forehead is not hollow. The "third eye" may simply exist on another plane that floats between our realm and the realm of the "third eye"'s existence.

The best way to understand this hypothesis is by understanding what happens when a transmuter turns someone into ether. Many people inaccurately assume that they are "sent" to the ethereal plane, but this is simply absurd; they become a substance that exists in both the ethereal plane and our plane. Viewing this substance is outside of most creature's natural capabilities, so to the layman, this substance does not exist in the normal realm. This is not true. Creatures within the ethereal plane have sensory access to our realm. Furthermore, they have the benefit of also seeing what is within the ethereal plane. This is a case where an object exists between two realms, is unseen in ours, and has additional access to sensory information. I will see if this "third eye" is a similar case by running rigorous tests on the hole inside of Subject 3312's head.

    Hypothesis 2:
This power is divinely gifted. As much as the thought sickens me, there are many cases in history where a servant is rewarded for sacrifices of his own flesh by supernatural rewards. If this is the case, I must then seek how the entity or deity inspires this power within Subject 3312. If the power turns out to be divinely inspired, I will have to work around it; my powers are great, and though I believe I could directly alter the deity's gift, I do not wish to earn scorn from any deity.

Instead, I will work on altering Subject 3312 himself into being more physically capable of receiving this ability, and perhaps enhance his ability to use it.

    Results: Pending.

Heroes need the weak to feel important. I say, teach the weak the skills they need to live on their own, to protect themselves and break free of the chains of charity and victimization. The Triad needs people to protect. I need people to succeed." -Byrun von Hellstrom
